Katelyn James, the photography educator I learn from recently asked her students for pictures before and after taking one of her courses. I hadn't looked at these images in forever so when I did, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The older images are from images 2019-2021, when all I knew was I loved photography and I knew how to handle the camera in its manual mode. I, for some reason, was very confident for someone who had no idea what she was doing. But I still went ahead and photographed anyone and everyone who would let me and people actually let me take pictures of them!
I still can't believe someone actually trusted me with their memories and invested their time with me but I am so glad they did because without all those shoots, I wouldn't be the photographer I am today.
These pictures will always be a reminder of how good God has been to me, how He brought the right people at the right time. They will always remind me to be grateful to all those sweet people who let me take pictures of them, who invested in me.
I hope it is also an encouragement to you. Everyone starts somewhere and if you wait until you are good enough, you'll never start.
